Because LLLT promotes healing and tissue repair, it has been cleared by the FDA for the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.  The Te Center is working with the FDA to study the effects of the laser on nicotine addiction and weight control.

How long does the laser session take?  The laser session takes about 30 minutes.  Since your first visit will include a personal consultation, you should allow an hour for that appointment.

How many sessions will I need?

For Smoking Cessation we recommend 2 treatments within the first 72 hours. Generally, the first three days are the most critical time for a person trying to quit.  Our packages includes one or two additional boosters within the first month.

For Weight Loss we recommend 2 treatments within the first week and once a week thereafter for support.  Our package includes 6 visits, two the first week and four additional sessions at weekly intervals.  Additional treatment sessions can be added as desired.

Will I gain weight when I quit smoking? Weight gain may be avoidable when quitting smoking with low level laser therapy.  Studies conducted in other countries have shown little to no weight gain with LLLT.  Our laser therapist will apply the laser to energy points to improve metabolism and help suppress your appetite.

Is laser therapy covered by insurance?  At this time Low Level Laser Therapy is not covered by health insurance.

Are the results guaranteed?  Low Level Laser Therapy has been successfully used in Europe, Canada and England for more than 20 years.  We are one of over 100 centers in the United States working with the FDA to study the effectiveness of LLLT on physical cravings and addictions.   While we cannot offer a guarantee, The Te Center is dedicated to helping our clients achieve their goal.

Is there anything I need to do before my first LLLT treatment?  There are no preparations needed before your first treatment; however, it is helpful to start drinking 6–8 glasses of water per day, decrease consumption of caffeine and alcohol and take vitamin C.

Are there any health conditions that would prevent me from participating in this study?  The conditions that would exclude you from receiving these treatments are: active cancer, current radiation or chemotherapy treatments,  photosensitivity to light, pregnancy, blood clotting disorders, epilepsy, and receipt of steroid injections within 48 hours prior to treatment.
